This is the official website for "The Future of Ethiopian Jews". This is a documentary that gives voice and demystifies Ethiopian Jewish history in northeastern Africa.
Over 90,000 Jews have left Ethiopia for the "Promised Land" in Israel. The number of remaining Jews in Ethiopia is now debatable since archaeological records indicate frequent physical and cultural migration of Hebraic culture into Ethiopia. Ethiopia is also considered one of the earliest footholds of Judaism by archaeologists dating as far back as 2000 B.C.
A careful look will be taken at Jews in that region that look to Israel as their spiritual home. The goal of this documentary is to cast further light upon the religious heritage of Ethiopian Jews based upon archaeological facts and oral history.
